Discipleship Bible School (DBS)
31 March - 19 June 2025
You want ”to know God and make Him known” – but maybe now you want to dig deeper into the Bible,
to learn more from and about the book in which God reveals Himself to us?
Whether you…
- Have a desire to dig deeper and build a stronger foundation on the Word of God
- Feel that you have missed some of the books in the Bible
- Have questions about the parts of the Bible that you have read
- Want to see the big picture and discover God’s story with mankind
- Like to discover hyperlinks & patterns in the bible that connect the stories and give them meaning
- Long to grow in how to understand and apply the Word of God
- Want to learn how to disciple others, using the Bible
… Then the DBS is the school you are looking for!
In 12 weeks we will through the teaching, reading and discussion groups discover the whole bible together, read through all 66 books chronologically, learn about the historical, geographical and cultural background of each book and discover the main characters, the main themes, and the main messages. We will see how the narratives, wisdom literature and prophets in the Old Testament all connect with the Gospels, Epistles and Revelation in the New Testament, and discover the big picture of God’s redemptive story with mankind.
The Bible will come alive for you in an environment that allows you to explore, ask questions, share insights, and take the challenge to impart what you have learned. You will learn how to lead dynamic and effective Bible study groups, be able to confidently present a Bible overview and be better equipped to explain the Word of God to others.
No matter what your calling is, a good knowledge of God’s word is a strong foundation! Dig deep into the most exciting book on the planet, fall in love with its author and continue the transformation that started in your DTS.
COURSE INFO
Topics in the DBS generally follow the books that you are chronologically studying. Although each book is studied to discover its original intent, you will also be taught on topics. For example, while studying Genesis, Exodus, and Job you will also look at World View and Origins; you will learn about Leadership and Worship as you study the life of David in 1 & 2 Samuel, Chronicles, and the Psalms; during the study of Acts and Paul’s missionary journeys, you might study Cross-cultural Missions and the Cost of the Call. Each book is filled with insights to be discovered!
As a result, you will be able to share your faith more confidently with those who are seeking (evangelism) and explain the Word of God more accurately to those who’ve already come to faith (discipleship). You will also continue the discipleship process in your own life, by building godly character and developing a lifelong hunger and love for the Word.
The course will be in English, but you will be part of an international community and also attend Swedish churches while you are with us.
DAILY SCHEDULE
This is a full-time course. The exact weekly schedule may vary depending on the topics and books.
Mornings: Worship, intercession, or a devotional. Lectures with your special guest speaker for that week. Teaching on the books of the Bible that you are currently reading and studying.
Afternoons: Small groups! This is the exciting part where you in the group read through the books aloud – during the 12 weeks you will have read through Genesis to Revelation! During the reading, you will have the opportunity to discuss any topics and questions that come up. Twice a week a selected passage is studied inductively as well. The discovery of new truths leads to transformation in the lives of the students! In the afternoons there will also be time for work duties.
Evenings: After dinner, you work on your homework assignments, including working on your creative timeline that includes biblical events, the revelation on God’s character and nature, as well as God’s redemptive plan. This homework contributes to your final presentation when you towards the end of the school will have the opportunity to teach for 30 minutes on God’s Story from Genesis to Revelation.
