Do you long to know God?
Then the DTS is for you! It will give you the opportunity to get to know God better, to know His heart, His ways, His thoughts, His plans for you – and your life will be changed into a life focused on Him, day in, day out.
The DTS is the first step towards working with YWAM as a full time staff, and is also a requirement for all other training courses offered by YWAM’s University of the Nations.
Do you long to make God known?
After 12 weeks of lectures in the class room, the DTS goes on outreach for 8 weeks, to spread the good news about Jesus in many different ways, in other cultures and nations. This gives you the opportunity to put into practice what you have learned in the class room.
At the DTS you will learn about
- your relationship with God: The nature and character of God; God’s ways; hearing God’s voice; how to develop a lifestyle of prayer and worship.
- your relationship to yourself and others: personal character development; discovery and development of your gifts and ministry; stewardship; principles of healthy relationships; forgiveness.
- your relationship to the Bible: How to develop a habit of reading and studying the Bible; application of Biblical truth to everyday life.
- your relationship to the world: How to share your faith with others; evangelism; understanding other cultures; unreached people groups; understanding of the needs of the world; Biblical world view.
- your relationship to the church: Commitment; unity; understanding the role of the church in the society and in the Great Commission.
- your relationship to the enemy: Resisting temptation; prayer and intercession; spiritual warfare.
The length and language of the DTS
A DTS is an intensive, five-month full time course, where you live and learn together with the other students. The first three months are spent at the YWAM base in Dalarna, and the rest of the school on outreach somewhere else in the world. Our previous schools have been to South America, North Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
The DTS will be held in English, with translation to Swedish or other languages if necessary.
Costs
The DTS doesn’t come for free! It might cost you your plans for the future and perhaps the whole direction of your life. Our desire is for you to be ruined for the ordinary, that you get ready to go wherever God sends you and do whatever He calls you to do!
The DTS will also cost you money. Our school fees are SEK 27,500 and cover food, housing and teaching. In addition to that, you will have to pay for airfares and transportation to the outreach destination (expect 5,000-12,000 SEK).
The registration fee is SEK 750, but is credited towards the total fee if you are accepted. The registration fee cannot be refunded.
The school fee does not include pocket money or personal spending.
